The CFO for Small BusinessAbout The CFO for Small Business
thecfoforsmallbusiness.com exists because small business owners looking for a CFO often wonder whether they're allowed to want one. The word sounds like a big-company job, and many owners feel too small to ask. This site answers that plainly and shows what the work looks like at small scale. You're allowed to want it, and here is what it would do for you.
Tell us how big you are
The team you'd be talking to
The Tax CFO you'll meet is Steven Palmieri, the Entrepreneur's CFO. Steven and his team keep books, prepare returns and plan the year with owners of companies that are run by the person whose name is on the door. The practice sits in Dallas, Texas, and the owners we work with are all over the country, so we meet by video.
The word "we" is deliberate, and we use it on purpose. Your questions get answered by someone who has actually seen your numbers, because a team does the work together.
Why a site just for this
Small business money has a shape of its own. The owner's pay and the company's cash are tied together. Whatever the company earns shows up again on the owner's own return. A lender wants to see the person as well as the business. We built these pages around that shape, so that a reader who owns a small business finds their own situation in them.
How we think about size
We don't talk down to a business for its size or treat an owner as unimportant. Small isn't a lesser version of big. The numbers matter just as much, and an owner who reads them clearly makes better decisions. The same care goes into a business with two people as into one with twenty.
What this site won't do
It won't tell you that you need us. If your business is very small, or your books aren't kept yet, the honest answer may be to wait, and the free call says so. It won't offer personal credit work, and it won't act as an examiner of statements. One page lays out those limits, so you can read them first.
Where to start
If the question on your mind is whether this is for a company your size, begin with does a small business need a CFO. If it's the form a lender gave you, or how you pay yourself, the tiles on the home page take you there. Common questions are on the questions page.
The wider practice
The practice's main site is stevenpalmieri.com, if you'd like the wider picture.
We're glad to help, and we like it when an owner leaves a conversation a little less alone with the numbers. If you'd like to know who we are before you call, this page is meant to answer that, and the questions page covers what you might be too shy to ask.
